Chicken Fajita Lettuce Wraps
Makes 1 serving
For my family, I make 3 servings and put tortillas out, so I don’t have to make any extra meal for them. You can also make a few extra servings for the leftovers, they are helpful if you have only days to cook for a family on the smoothie diet.
You don’t want to cook on those days and you can just serve the leftover fajitas in tortillas, in a salad or in a quesadilla. Leftovers are your friend, freeze them in individual servings to avoid snacking on them, and finally pack your freezer with healthy homemade “TV Dinners.”
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 4 oz chicken breast cut into thin strips
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dried or fresh chopped oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 bell peppers cut into thin strips
- 1 onion cut into thin rings
- 1 jalapeno, all seeds, and ribs removed, thinly sliced (optional)
- 4 large butter lettuce or romaine lettuce leaves
Heat the olive oil in a pot with medium heat and leave to brown on all sides for approx. 5 minutes. In brown chicken, add the chili powder, oregano and garlic powder and toss until the chicken strips are coated.
Add the bell, onion, and jalapeno peppers to your pot, and cook until soft for about 10-15 minutes. Cut into the pot the lettuce leaves and serve hot.
Vegetarian (or turkey) Chili
Makes 6 servings
The chili is vegetarian or chopped with ground turkey or leftover chicken. It works perfectly in this cleanse diet. Brown with the onions, use the remaining chicken and add the tomatoes.
Once you have soft onions and bell peppers, you can also do this in a pot, move into the crockpot and follow the rest of the recipe in the pot. Cook at the top for 4 hours or at the bottom for 7 hours.
This chili is great over an omelet or a baked potato in individual containers.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 yellow onion, chopped fine
- 2 red bell peppers, chopped fine
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
- 1 jalapeno seeds and ribs removed, chopped fine
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 bay leafs
- 28 oz can of chopped or crushed tomatoes
- 15 oz can of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 15 oz can of kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup frozen corn kernels
- Greek yogurt (optional topping)
- Chopped red onion (optional topping)
- Hot sauce (optional topping)
In a large saucepot, heat the oil on a medium. Fill in the onion with bell peppers, garlic, and jalapeno, cook for about 10-15 minutes to make veggies soft, and most of the oignons clear. Add chili, cumin and baking leaves, stir with vegetables and bake until the spices are smelled, add the crushed tomatoes and stir for about a minute.
The longer you cook, the better the flavor. Cook 1-3 hours at low temperature. 10 minutes before serving, add chili to the boobs and maize and stir (see recap description for instructions of the crockpot).
Veggie Omelet
Makes 1 serving
Some of you may want your detox meal or your Sunday brunch in the morning. I wanted a breakfast option throughout the day. Therefore, to add meat, you need to take out the cheese, chicken leftover, or chopped turkey bacon, work well. Omelets are great any time of day and I added cheese instead of meat.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
- 5 cherry tomatoes sliced in half
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 2 egg whites
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ avocado sliced
- ¼ cup fresh salsa (optional)
Heat on a medium 1⁄2 teaspoon of olive oil in a large skillet, add pepper, mushrooms, and tomatoes in the bell. Cook, until the bell peppers are soft for 10 minutes while cooking the eggs, are prepared and the cheese is shredded. After cooking, add the veggies in the green onion, turn off the heat and cover. Heat the remaining 1⁄2 teaspoon of olive oil on medium-low in a small skillet.
Whisk the egg whites and eggs until light and airy together with a spoonful of water and add to the small skillet. Cook slowly and smoothly until 1⁄2 of the eggs are in place.
Use a spatula to lift one side of the omelet gently to pool the runny eggs below, then lay down the cooked eggs and top the omelet with cheese over the entire top.
Once the eggs are fully cooked, add the cooked veggies to the center and fold the eggs gently as you would fold a letter, cook for another minute to ensure that the cheese is melted and then move gently to a plate. Detox Drinks Guide
Whether you are losing weight, clearing the skin or just feeling safer, you are going to have to wipe your system with many and lots of detoxified drinks like fruit infused water, a gallon of water a day to be accurate. You are trying to get free of toxins.
For those of you who don’t taste water or who need a push to help you drink more, I have included some fruit infused detox water below to ensure you don’t use any man-made sweeteners.
These little flavoring packs that people add to their water are actually full of fat storage toxins, weight gain, migraines, and breakouts, and so the list goes on and on. And coffee, what? I have covered you, ideally, to save coffee at this Detox Diet Week, but it’s not always so easy to do.
You can therefore only have one cup a day and 1-2 cup organic herbal tea so you can choose herbal tea for your second cup at noon when you drink coffee in the morning. Now that you know that coffee is ok, let’s talk about it.
We try to skip sugars this week, so choose an all-natural creamer and an all-natural sweetener instead of sugar or flavored creamer (many with the same problem as the little flavor packets in the water section above).

Often, after weeks 1, people want to keep on feeling incredible, look wonderful and want to keep going. It’s perfectly safe if you want to continue, but you may get burnt.
